Smallwood Manor is a co-educational Nursery and Day School for children aged 2½ to 11, set in 50 acres of beautiful woods and parkland just south of Uttoxeter on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border.
As a Woodard School Smallwood has strong ties with Denstone College and has enjoyed an excellent reputation for preparing children for 11+ Entrance examinations and scholarship. Smallwood has a fine reputation for sport. Facilities include a covered heated swimming pool, a gymnasium and two hard tennis courts. Rugby, hockey, football and netball are the main winter games; cricket and rounders are the main summer games. There is a whole range of clubs and activities after school including cookery, art and crafts, chess, board games and computers.
Smallwood has a fine modern chapel and a choir, which sings regularly in Music festivals and local churches. Each child learns the violin for a year and the school has a string quarter, orchestra and wind band.
