National Award for Denstone Art Department

Art students at Denstone College have just found out that the Art Department has received a national award for Best A level results for Fine Art in an English school. This is the third year running that the College has won this award.

This follows last year’s exam success where all 43 Denstone AS and A level Art students achieved A grades in their exams. In addition to this, three students who took GCSE Art in 2008 were amongst the top ten out of 36,294 students who took the subject nationally.

David Derbyshire, the Headmaster, was delighted by this latest news: "This award reflects the expertise and commitment of our Art teachers, lead by Head of Department, Tom O' Brien. Our girls and boys have worked hard at both GCSE and A level, and clearly they have real talent."
