King’s School, Tynemouth - Time Capsule Laid in Oswins!
On Wednesday 23 July another key stage in the Oswins development was marked by the placing of the Time Capsule in the floor of the main entrance hall.
The whole school has contributed ideas for items to include and the Junior School Council chose the items. A total of 21 items were included from a School Tie and Badge, Magazine and Staff Handbook to creative writing and an autograph book signed by every Junior School pupil. A set of 2007 coins and recent stamp issues were also included.
The Junior School Council members laid the capsule and assisted with its burial in wet cement!
The lead capsule will be marked by a floor plate and is due for opening in 2060 – the bi-centenary of the school’s foundation!
