International Rugby Selection for Oliver!

Oliver Stedman in the Lower Sixth is the latest King’s School, Tynemouth rugby player to receive international recognition when selected for the England under 18 squad. The back row forward has this season already played for Northumberland and North of England and as a result of selection camps over Christmas has now been named in the national squad. Oliver will travel to Treviso in Italy in March to represent his country in a ‘Square International’ tournament.

Following in the footsteps of Toby Flood, who has since gone on to full England selection and appearances in the World Cup, Oliver has achieved this honour whilst ‘a year young’ – he will be eligible for the same selection in a years time as well. Rob Snow, King’s Director of Rugby, said ‘It’s a wonderful achievement for Oliver and the chance for him to demonstrate his skills in the biggest possible games for his age group.’
