The Sunday Times State Secondary School of the Year 2008-2009, listed by Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools as" an outstanding provider of education" in 2007. St Olave’s is a Voluntary Aided selective school which admits four forms of entry of boys at the age of eleven and takes both boys and girls into the Sixth Form. The most recent OFSTED inspection in November 2006 judged the School to be “Outstanding”. The School gained Specialist Status in Mathematics and Computing in 2004, and Science in 2008. The School admits pupils from a wide variety of backgrounds across a broad area of South London.
