The Littlehampton Academy

One of a new breed of UK secondary school, The Littlehampton Academy is a publicly funded state school with an independent governing body, providing free education for students of all abilities. It opened to its first intake of students in September 2009.

Housed in the former Littlehampton Community School, the academy offers high quality academic and vocational education tailored to individual students’ needs through personalised learning pathways. Everyone is valued and respected. As a Christian designated academy, the school provides a rich and diverse culture enabling young people from all faiths or none to flourish and lead full and creative lives, choosing their own positive, personal, social, moral and spiritual values.

Schooling is organised into six Chapters, providing the highest quality pastoral care for students and encouraging them to develop as confident learners in a nurturing environment.

Constant monitoring of progress and a powerful mentoring system means students are encouraged to achieve their full potential throughout their school career. Enjoying the twin specialisms of Business & Enterprise and English, the academy also has substantial resources to develop innovative ideas in these areas, providing enriched learning experiences for students and extended school activities.

A specialist sixth form college, with its own distinctive ethos and a Chapter of its own, caters for 250 students, offering a range of options to meet each student’s personal learning needs. These include A and A/S Levels, NVQs, GCSEs, BTECs and the Government’s new National Diplomas.
