Archbishop Temple School

Nurturing a living Christian community through lives of learning, worship and service.

“Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be” John 12, 26.

Archbishop Temple School is an 11-16, Church of England Technology and Humanities College. Our Church of England foundation ensures that traditional Christian values of respect, compassion, self-discipline, tolerance and individual worth underpin all that we do. The school welcomes families of other world faiths and values the cultural and spiritual diversity this brings.

Achievement and attainment at the school is extremely high. This year’s GCSE results were the best ever at the school on virtually every key measure and the highest of all non-selective schools in Lancashire, based on the percentage of students achieving 5+ GCSE grades including English and maths. 97% (94%) of all students achieved 5+ A*-C grades, 91% (86%) including GCSE English and maths (only 13 students didn’t achieve this key government benchmark). 59% (54%) of all students achieved at least 3 A/A* grades and 44% (37%) of all grades awarded were at A/A*. Last year’s figures are given in brackets.

The most recent Ofsted inspection (May 2009) judged Archbishop Temple School to be outstanding.
